Coronectomy: two clinical case reports

Introduction: The lower third molar extraction is a procedure that can lead to some complications. To perform tooth extraction, the dental surgeon requests imaging exams assess aspects, including proximity of inferior alveolar nerve. Based on these findings, surgery be performed or other tests requested, such as cone beam computed tomography. If between structures confirmed through tomography, coronectomy presents an alternative conventional mandibular teeth are in close contact with nerve and, consequently, higher risk damaging this structure. Objective: present study aims report two clinical cases at clinic Federal University Jequitinhonha and Mucuri Valleys (UFVJM). Methodology: Two were reported study. Discussion: Although results technique positive, it still not widely accepted due lack long term studies possibility having second surgical remove residual roots. Conclusion: In both cases, no complications by patients, loss sensitivity, pain, infection dry socket.
